When it comes to buying a custom pop-up tent, most people think it’s just picking a size and slapping a logo on it. That’s it. But we’re here to tell you, there’s way more to it. We’ve worked with all types of customers, and believe me, once you go custom, you want to make sure you’re doing it right from the start. So here’s a short list of 5 things you should definitely think about before pulling the trigger.
1. What do you want to achieve with this tent?
Are you just trying to show up, or are you trying to stand out? Big difference, that could be the main aspect of your research while looking for options on canopies. Do you want people to actually see your tent, stop to make some pictures, engage in a conversation, take samples, inquire about your business, your tent has to be an eye candy, something that actually bring attention, it could be on colors, on its design, that’s up to you to decide. You can think of your canopy like a mobile billboard, it’s the perfect way to make your company go into public events and showcase your image and products. Or if you’re not a company, your values, your projects and passions.
2. Where are you going to use it?
Indoor events? Outdoor expos? Beach festivals? Parking lot sales? Every location is different. Some places are windy, some are super sunny, others might have uneven ground. That will decide things like if you need extra weights, sidewalls, or maybe even a full flooring setup. Knowing where you’ll be is going to save you a lot of stress later on.
3. Who’s going to set it up?
You’d be surprised how often people forget about this part. Some tents are heavier, more solid, and need at least two people to set them up properly. Others are super easy, one-person jobs, done in a couple of minutes. Think about your team. Is it just you and a friend? Do you need something lightweight and simple? Or do you have a crew that can handle something bigger? That will tell you a lot about what frame to go for.
4. What kind of design are you picturing?
This is the fun part. But also, the part where a lot of people get stuck. Are you thinking bold colors? Minimalist and clean? Do you have your logo ready? Do you want full print coverage or just a banner? What are you trying to achieve with this design? 5. How often are you going to re-use this tent?
This is a subject much more important than most people think. If it’s just for one event and that’s it, sure, you can go with something simple. But if you're planning to use it again and again, different seasons, different locations, then you should really invest in a tent that’s built for that. Better materials, better frame, better printing, it’ll last you way longer and keep looking fresh every time, our American Phoenix tents have you covered on those aspects. But there is something that is quite necessary too, and that is to have a design that can have and endure the past of time, try not to put to many things referencing current events like Halloween, Christmas, etc. You can use those on side walls or flags since you can easily change those, but on the top itself, if you want to use it on multiple events all year, it might not be a great idea.
